Abstract

Objetivo: Analizar la comprensión de las mujeres mayores sobre la violencia en este grupo de edad.

Método: Investigación cualitativa realizada entre noviembre de 2021 y enero de 2022 con 40 mujeres mayores de 60 años, atendidas en la Red de Atención Primaria de Salud, en un municipio de tamaño medio del interior del estado de São Paulo - Brasil. Los datos obtenidos fueron analizados a la luz de la Hermenéutica-Dialéctica.

Resultados: Se identificaron cinco categorías analíticas: 1. comprensión de la violencia contra las mujeres mayores; 2. factores que desencadenan la violencia contra las mujeres mayores; 3. sugerencias de acciones para prevenir la violencia contra las mujeres mayores; 4. recursos a los que pueden acceder las mujeres mayores víctimas de violencia; 5. disconformidad con la violencia contra las mujeres mayores.

Consideraciones Finales: A la luz de la Hermenéutica-Dialéctica, se evidenció una serie de violencias percibidas contra las ancianas en la sociedad, con énfasis en el maltrato físico, la falta de respeto y el abuso financiero.
