Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Summary in the language of the text containing up to 250 words, in a single paragraph, single line spacing, followed by three to five keywords.

  • Abstract following the same rules as the summary, followed by three to five keywords;

  • The file for submission, separate from the title page, must be in Microsoft Word format (as long as it does not exceed 10MB) and without protection in 'properties';

  • A4 format (210 x 297 mm), Times New Roman font, size 12, 1.5 line spacing, top and left margins of 3 cm, bottom and right margins of 2 cm;

  • The pages of the articles must be numbered in the bottom right corner;

  • Illustrations and tables must use Times New Roman font, size 10, accompanied by a header, data source, and captions when necessary, in a way that allows understanding the meaning of the compiled data without the need to refer to the text;

  • Citations must follow the author/date format, according to the following guidelines:

    - One author: Giddens (1978) or (Giddens, 1978).

    - Two authors: Moody and White, 2003 or (Moody & White, 2003).

    - Three or more authors: when a work has three or more authors, include all surnames in the first citation, followed by the publication date. In subsequent citations, include only the surname of the first author followed by et al. and the publication date.

    1st Citation:

    Alves Filho, Cerra, Maia, Sacomano Neto and Bonadio (2004) or (Alves Filho, Cerra, Maia, Sacomano Neto & Bonadio, 2004).

    2nd Citation:

    Alves Filho et al. (2004) or (Alves Filho et al., 2004).


  • For direct quotations, indicating the page number is essential. Quotations with up to 40 words must appear within the text and in quotation marks, while those with more than 40 words must be placed in a separate paragraph, using the standard font size of the main text and single spacing. The paragraph must have a five-space indent from the left margin and be right-justified. It must not be enclosed in quotation marks;

  • Footnotes will not be accepted, except for author credentials and acknowledgments to funding agencies;

  • Annexes and appendices should only be used for lists, statistics, and other supporting elements that are indispensable for understanding the text;

Author Guidelines

Guidelines for Manuscript Submission

RC&C. accepts manuscripts in Portuguese, Spanish, and English.

For article submission to RC&C., authors are advised to ensure compliance with APA standards [American Psychological Association – 7th Edition] and the journal’s criteria. Submissions that do not comply with these standards will be rejected.

Manuscripts should not exceed 10,000 words.

A maximum of five (5) authors per manuscript is allowed. The recommended number of authors is three (3), with a limit of five (5). Once submitted, no additional authors will be accepted.

The following documents must be submitted at the time of submission:

Cover Page

Supplementary document containing the manuscript title in Portuguese and English, the name(s) of the author(s), the academic qualification(s) of the author(s) that qualify them in the field of the manuscript, institutional affiliation(s) of the author(s), complete address including telephone and email.

Abstract in the language of the manuscript containing up to 250 words in a single paragraph, single-spaced, followed by three to five keywords, and an abstract in English, following the same rules as the abstract, followed by three to five keywords. The cover page must be submitted as a supplementary document.

Manuscript Body

  • Title of the manuscript in Portuguese and English;

  • Abstract in the language of the manuscript and English abstract, followed by three to five keywords;

  • Introduction section, including presentation and contextualization of the research problem, formulation of objectives, study justification, and delimitation of the problem;

  • Theoretical framework section;

  • Methodology section;

  • Analysis or discussion of results section;

  • Conclusions or final considerations section;

  • References.

References

References are limited to those cited in the manuscript. References must be listed at the end of the text, in alphabetical order, font size 10, justified alignment, single-spaced, with 6 pt spacing between each reference. From the second line of each reference, a 0.5 cm hanging indent should be applied, returning to no indent on the first line of each reference. All authors must be listed, regardless of number. Works by the same author(s) should be presented in ascending chronological order.

Conflicts of interest may take personal, commercial, political, academic, or financial forms. In accordance with the best practices recommended by COPE, any relationship or interest that may influence, or appear to influence, editorial judgment, the conduct of the research, or the interpretation of its results must be clearly disclosed. Therefore, authors, reviewers, and editors must act transparently when reporting potential conflicts.

At the time of manuscript submission, authors are responsible for identifying and declaring any institutional affiliation, financial support, consulting activity, equity participation, or personal relationship that may have directly or indirectly influenced the study. If a conflict of interest exists, even if only potential, the authors must disclose it at the time of submission.
