O enfoque principal deste trabalho está na relação entre tradição e arquitetura. Tem como objetivo apresentar noções sobre a compreensão do vernáculo aplicado à arquitetura, ressaltando a sua importância no estudo da arquitetura ecológica como sistema multi-sensorial. O texto foi originalmente desenvolvido na disciplina Natureza e Ética, do Curso de Doutorado em Meio Ambiente e Desenvolvimento, da Universidade Federal do Paraná UFPR, sob orientação do professor Dr. Ademar Heemann.

Abstract
This study focuses on the relationship between tradition and architecture. It aims at presenting notions on vernacular understanding applied to architecture, emphasizing its importance in the study of the ecological architecture as a multisensorial system.
