PREVENCIÓN DE LA VIOLENCIA SEXUAL EN LAS ESCUELAS DE COSTA RICA: ADAPTACIÓN TRANSCULTURAL DE UN FOLLETO EDUCATIVO

Abstract

Objetivo: realizar la traducción y adaptación transcultural del folleto educativo "Prevención de la violencia sexual en la escuela" a la realidad de Costa Rica.

Método: estudio metodológico realizado con 61 adolescentes de entre 10 y 13 años; dos traductores costarricenses, dos traductores brasileños, un profesional en lingüística española, un profesional en lingüística brasileña y siete jueces. El periodo de recogida de datos se realizó entre los meses de junio y diciembre de 2017. 

Resultados: hubo inconsistencias en el uso de pronombres personales en español ("vos", "tu" y "usted"), ausencia de "lenguaje inclusivo", empleo de lenguaje y palabras no utilizadas por la población objetivo y discrepancias en temas, imágenes y sobre la realidad cultural de Costa Rica. La decisión fue "necesita una reforma" en la apariencia y la homogeneización de los pronombres.

Conclusión: el cuaderno puede utilizarse en diversos entornos para llevar a cabo acciones de educación para la salud, en el caso de este estudio, en las escuelas. Una parte fundamental de los profesionales de la enfermería es ser educadores, proporcionando herramientas a los adolescentes a través de materiales evaluados científicamente y facilitando la enseñanza y el aprendizaje.
