Tendencias temporales y patrones espaciales correspondientes a la sífilis materno-infantil en la región Norte de Brasil

Objetivo: Analizar tendencias temporales y patrones espaciales correspondientes a la sífilis materno-infantil en la región Norte de Brasil entre 2014 y 2023.
Método: Estudio ecológico y temporal realizado con datos secundarios provenientes del Sistema Nacional de Nacidos Vivos y del panel nacional de indicadores de sífilis. Las tasas de sífilis gestacional y congénita se analizaron por medio de regresión log-lineal y modelos joinpoint para estimar el Annual Percent Change. Las asociaciones se estimaron a través de modelos de conteo con efectos fijos y offset poblacional, mientras que la dependencia espacial se estimó por medio de regresiones espaciales autorregresivas.
Resultados: La sífilis gestacional presentó un crecimiento continuo en la serie histórica. La sífilis congénita demostró heterogeneidad entre los estados, con un aumento anual del 80,5% en Amazonas hasta el año 2017, seguido de una inversión en la tendencia después de 2018, mientras que Pará mantuvo el ascenso durante todo el período.
Conclusión: Diversas desigualdades sociales y territoriales siguen siendo determinantes centrales en cuanto a la persistencia de la transmisión vertical de la sífilis en la Amazonia brasileña.
