Toxicidad financiera de personas con cáncer en terapia antineoplásica sistémica

Objetivo: Analizar la relación entre la toxicidad financiera y las características sociodemográficas y clínicas de personas con cáncer en terapia antineoplásica sistémica.
Método: Estudio transversal, realizado entre mayo y octubre de 2023 en un hospital de referencia para tratamiento oncológico en el sur de Brasil. La muestra se compuso con 100 participantes y la compilación de datos se llevó a cabo mediante historias clínicas y entrevistas, utilizando el instrumento COmprehensive Score for Financial Toxicity. El análisis de datos incluyó estadística descriptiva, prueba t de Student, correlación de Pearson y regresión lineal múltiple.
Resultados: Se identificó un impacto leve, en su mayoría, para toxicidad financiera (66%), observándose que los ingresos propios se mantienen como predictor de toxicidad financiera (β=0,253; p<0,05).
Conclusión: Se destaca la importancia de evaluar este factor en la atención oncológica, con el objetivo de lograr una mejor adhesión al tratamiento y el bienestar de los pacientes.
