Help care nurses building the therapeutic relationship in the general

This research took place with five
nurses’ participation in a general hospital, in the west
of Paraná state, from 14/07 to 03/09/1999. It aimed
to describe how nurses experience the therapeutic
relationship with patients in hospital, after a
continuous educational program. Communication
and therapeutic relationship concepts were adopted
for the theory. The methodology used was the careconvergent
. In the meeting of the groups, which
aimed discussing the concepts about
communication and the therapeutic helpful
relationship , we used an educational game about
the subject. The data analysis was focused on the
agreement of the theoretical and methodological
framework with the whole research . We could
conclude that nurses were able to build concepts and
to improve their therapeutic help relationship.
