Abstract

Qualitative research developed at a Primary Health Care Unit located in Betim (MG). This investigation

aimed to discuss Mental Health in the Primary Health Care as the articulation between the principles of the National Health

System and the Psychiatric Reform. Data were collected using a semi-structured interview as well as participant observation

and analyzed through the technique of the Discourse of the Collective Subject. The principles of the National Health

System and Psychiatric Reform are achieved through actions of individual care, mental health care delivery, home visit,

case discussion, craftsmanship workshop developed in Primary Health Care and strategies adopted for participation and

qualification of Community Health Agents, collective welcoming, subjective expression of the team and involvement of

family/community.
