Abstract

The aim of this essay is to draw attention to some controversies that accompany the arrival of this new age, particularly in Brazil, and to highlight the presence of three different groups in the discursive matrix of the Anthropocene: the accelerationists, the ecomodernists and the Earthbound. It does not seem easy to clarify what is in dispute at this time, and it is due to this challenge that I propose the following question: are we too late?
