This study analyzed the importance of religious institutions in disseminating a culture of climate disaster risk prevention, based on scientific immersions promoted by the National Center for Monitoring and Early Warnings of Natural Disasters (CEMADEN) in partnership with the Interfaith Rainforest Initiative (IRI-Brazil). Since 2022, over 300 leaders have participated in lectures and workshops offered by the CEMADEN Education Program, promoting science issues on the perception of disaster risks through Disaster Risk Reduction for Education and Climate Environmental Education. The study aims to reveal the dialogic educational practices between researchers and religious leaders, considering the impacts of climate change and the potential expansion of knowledge to reduce denialism and encourage prevention and adaptation actions, before and beyond the tradition of post-disaster practices. The activities performed included participatory methodologies such as oral history, the construction of rain gauges, campaigns, and playing serious games regarding disasters, allowing collective reflections on socio-environmental vulnerabilities and adaptation strategies. The results show that joint action between scientific and religious institutions strengthens the community’s resilience and extends the reach of information on climate emergency. The research reinforces the need to integrate science, education, and spirituality as complementary strategies to prepare society for the new global climate regime.
