Environmental crimes are aggressions committed to the environment and are defined as unlawful acts, and against them environmental sanctions must be applied, in order to guarantee to future generations the ecologically balanced environment. For this, strategies understood as actions implied in the conservation and balance of biodiversity are necessary, evaluating the effectiveness of the applied resources, aiming at the reach of the preservation of the environment. In this sense, the science of law tries to follow social evolution, establishing limits, legal norms, and seeking to balance the social order, in order to guarantee to future generations an ecologically balanced environment. This study has the general objective of evaluating the intervention strategies used to supervise and reduce environmental crimes of the Recôncavo Sul Bahia Regional Environment Prosecutor, obeying a geographic environmental criterion established by the Public Ministry of the State of Bahia, and as specific objectives: listenvironmental crimes for type (s) and penalty (s) in the years 2016 and 2017; verify the measures related to environmental crimes adopted by the Public Prosecutor's Office and classify them; to ascertain the effectiveness and effectiveness of the measures adopted by the Public Prosecutor's Office regarding Environmental Crimes. As for the methodological procedures, this is a descriptive and exploratory documentary research, whose main purpose was the design of environmental crime records and strategies of the Recôncavo Sul's Regional Environmental Prosecutor's Office, with the isolation of variables and the use of the application form. A total of 374 procedures were instituted in the years 2016 and 2017, obtaining, as results in the Regional Rectory of the Environment of the Southern Recôncavo, a higher incidence of crimes against the fauna practiced by individuals, of the male gender, young people, with occupations that indicate low schooling. With regard to the strategies adopted by the Regional Public Prosecutor's Office of the Environment, it was possible to perceive constant monitoring, in spite of all the existing limitations. Thus, the analysis related to environmental legislation can demonstrate the contemporaneity of the theme and related issues, as well as the attempt to associate social science with legal technique, and thus verify the applicability and effectiveness of the normative text, so to address environmental issues.
