Abstract

The article aims to discuss four basic issues: a) the essence of the technological dimension of the environmental issue; b) the notion of the environment; c) the need for the Geoecology of Landscapes as a theoretical-methodological foundation of the environmental issue; d) the possibility of using the Geoecology of Landscapes in the applied tools of environmental planning and management, and in the innovative mechanisms of Geo technology. In this way, the Geoecology of Landscapes is promoted, because it can constitute the theoretical-methodological basis that sustains the construction of the technological dimension in the incorporation of the environmental dimension to the development processes.

José Manuel Mateo Rodrigues, Universidad de la Habana

Possui graduação em Geografia pela Universidade de Havana (1970), Mestrado em Educação Ambiental pela Universidade de Educação à Distância (1996), Doutorado em Ciências Geográficas pela Universidade Estatal de Moscou (1979), Pós-Dotourado em Análise Ambiental pela Universidade de Varsovia da Polônia (1985) e em Geoecologia da Paisagem pela Universidade Estatal de Moscou (1988). Atualmente é Professor Titular da Universidade de Havana e Acadêmico Titular da Academia de Ciência de Cuba. Atua como professor visitante na UNESP/Rio Claro, UFC / Fortaleza, Universidade de Zaragoz, Universidade Autônoma de Guadalajara, Universidade de Quintana Ro, Universidade Nacional de Colômbia, Universidad de los Andes/ Venezuela, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. É Presidente da Sociedade Cubana Geografia, desde 2011. Homenageado nos seguintes eventos: VI Seminário Latino americano e II Ibero Americano de Geografia Física em Coimbra Portugal no ano 2010 e no VII Seminário Latino americano e III Ibero Americano de Geografia Física em Manaus, Brasil no ano de 2012. Professor Emérito da Universidade de Havana, nomeado em 22 de março de 2017, no título assinado pelo Ministro da Educação Superior de Cuba e pelo Reitor da Universidade de Havana. Tem experiência na área de Geociências, com ênfase em Geografia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: paisagem, geoecologia, diagnóstico ambiental e análise ambiental.
