Abstract

This article aims to investigate how teachers' views on "Oil Capital" contribute to make a reflection on an Environmental Education contextualized to the local reality. Then, we consider the cinematographic production as a place for dialogic and horizontal education. This way, teachers describe, connect and analyze ecosystems according to the impacts of oil activity based on actor-network theory. Cross-sectional perspectives contribute to thinking about horizontal, collective and shared practices about the local reality. The experience was favorable as a process for understanding a common world by broadening the interpretations of reality, beyond the dichotomous view between society and environment, thus contributing to the continuing education of teachers.
