Abstract

In this paper are presented categories for the construction of a theoretical and methodological model of diagnostic research for the intervention in communities and organizations. The “objective” social processes, the conflicts and problems are attacked with a participative methodology, supported by sociocommunicational analysis. We also take in consideration a critical vision on social capital theory, as well as a theoretical proposition to be developed over the processes of accomodation, assimilation and ecological transformation of the communities to their conditions (material, social and cultural-symbolic). The basic proposition is that social collectives construct their sociosymbolic worlds, interpreted  through the notion of social cultivation of environments.
