University outreach as a source of knowledge on the subjects of drugs, gender and sexuality

Abstract

The subjects of drugs, gender and sexuality, though constantly present in socio-political discussions, lack space
for deepening in school disciplines. In university outreach it has been possible to expand the representations
of such themes through projects, programs, courses and events. The University-Community Program Com
Viver creates opportunities of access for different segments of the population to access historically constructed
information and it evidences, in a certain way, to bring to the surface the social representations of social
workers, teachers, adolescents at social risk, tutelary counselors and professionals from different areas,
contributing to the construction of knowledge and its diffusion. For that, research, teaching and community
outreach work in an integrated form. This article presents and discusses some of the monitoring indicators
used to give voice and time to the outreach participants, while sources of knowledge.
