Abstract

The need to evaluate the functioning of substitutive services in mental health is emergent, to know the

reality and the organization of the work process, based on the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation. We have the

objective to evaluate the work process of a CAPSII in one city of southern Brazil, from the Donabedian point of view. It is

an evaluative study, descriptive, which is part of a pilot study of the CAPSUL research. The data collection occurred in

may 2006, with 18 professionals of the service, representing 82% of the team. The data collection instrument was a selfapplied

questionnaire, from which 34 questions were used to achieve the objective. Data analysis was performed by the

light of the mental health legislation in vigor. The results show that, despite difficulties encountered in daily life of service,

professionals develop a work of quality, believing in the positive results of the assistance that they promote.
