Evaluación de la cultura de seguridad del paciente en un hospital de referencia en trauma brasileño

Resumen

Objetivo: Evaluar la cultura de seguridad del paciente en un hospital de referencia en trauma de Rio Grande do Norte.

Método: Estudio transversal, cuantitativo, realizado entre mayo y agosto de 2023, con aplicación del E-Cuestionario de Cultura de Seguridad Hospitalaria a profesionales del equipo multiprofesional. Se realizó un análisis descriptivo, basado en el porcentaje de respuestas positivas en las doce dimensiones del instrumento.

Resultados: Participaron 97 profesionales (16,4%). Ninguna dimensión fue clasificada como fortaleza. Las más debilitadas fueron el apoyo de la gerencia a la seguridad (21,7%), la respuesta no punitiva a los errores (26,8%) y la frecuencia de eventos notificados (27,3%). Las mejores, aunque neutras, fueron aprendizaje organizacional/mejora continua (73,2%), expectativas y acciones de la dirección/supervisión (55,8%) y trabajo en equipo (54,9%).

Conclusión: La cultura de seguridad se mostró debilitada, lo que sugiere intervenciones institucionales con enfoques no punitivos al error y mayor compromiso de la gestión con el contexto asistencial.
