This study objectified to outline the profile of sufferers from venous ulcer (VU) and to analyze the types of treatment used. Eight patients’ records from the Family Health Program and the Health Community Agent Program, in the interior of Minas Gerais State/ Brazil, were identified. Data were clustered in seven categories: profile of the VU bearer, location, wound conditions, type and time of duration, used treatments and professionals that prescribe the treatment, conditions of living and place where the wound is dressed, besides the category of the professional who performs the procedure. Findings evidenced that some professionals still use substances which delay healing and evaluation is not systemized, pointing to the need to offer updating courses for professionals who work with VU sufferers.
