The creation of a Journal Cogitare-Enfermagem at UFPR brings to mind facts and people who demonstrated that nursing profession at Federal University of Paraná, since its earliest times, have gone through a transformation in their intense “doing” to an age of incentive to “thinking”. Internai and externai factors play role in such construction making possible for nursing to emerge as a discipline both inside setting.
