NURSING DIAGNOSIS IDENTIFIED IN THE ELDERLY HOSPITAL DISCHARGE

This study aimed to analyze the profile of the nursing diagnosis of the Health Promotion Domain of
NANDA. This is a descriptive research conducted with 25 elderly (> 60 years) in the process of hospital discharge in a
School Hospital of the Midwest Region, from April to October of 2007. It was used the process of clinical reasoning
according with Risner to identify the nursing diagnosis. All the elderly presented nursing diagnosis in the Health Promotion
domain, and the prevalent ones were: increased disposition for the therapeutic regimen control (64%), ineffective control
of the therapeutic regimen (56%), disposition for improved nutrition (52%). Therefore, health education should be prioritized
at all health care stages, aiming the paradigm change of a pathological ageing, with focus on disability prevention and the
promotion of a healthy ageing.
