Abstract

ABSTRACT: This study objectified to verify the community perception in the studied area on the nurse’s performance in

the Family Health Program (FHP). It is a qualitative research study carried out among families registered in the FHP at

CAIC-Vila Maria Health Unit, located in the south of Rio Grande do Sul State/Brazil. It was verified that participant families

do not know about the proposal of the community Health Unit as well as the team nurse’s tasks. It is aimed, from the data,

to support the nurse in order to promote actions and divulging activities on the FHP’s proposal as well as clarify the

nurse’s functions which entail from the first care delivery up to activities aiming health promotion and education and work

organization, management and coordination of the whole team.
