Este artigo caracteriza o sistema de pesca artesanal na Baía da Babitonga, região estuarina do litoral norte de Santa Catarina. Descreve as modalidades de pesca, formas de exploração dos recursos, características dos petrechos e dinâmicas na transformaçao da pesca local. A pesquisa se apoiou em entrevistas parcialmente estruturadas, com informantes especialistas, e entrevistas semi-estruturadas, com informantesaleatórios.
