This article focuses the problematic classification of Salman Rushdies work as Commonwealth Literature. For Rushdie, dialogue among Third World literatures is the way to overcome cultural apartheid that affects literature from developing countries. In order to show up the authors cultural crossing proposal, it analyses relations between Rushdies The Moors Last Sight and Machado de Assis works.
