Abstract

This paper aim is to present an approach for the perfective paradox
in PB, in which the terminus may be anulated: ‘João comeu uma maçã, mas não conseguiu chegar até o fim’ (John ate an
apple, but didn’t finished it). We defend that this is possible
in some specific accomplishment verbs followed by internal
arguments with internal constitution. The thematic property of
graduality (KRIFKA, 1992) explains this phenomenom.
