Environmental extension: experience report on the Management, Assessment and Technology in the Environment project - GATMA

The Environmental Management, Assessment and Technology extension project (GATMA), founded in 2016 at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), aims to promote environmental awareness through activities aimed at the academic and external community. Since its creation, the team has carried out activities, such as lectures, short courses, events and digital publications, aligned with sustainable objectives. In 2020, GATMA was reformulated and is currently in its second version, being structured by a general coordination, while the other members are distributed across the internal, marketing and projects divisions. The methodology of the team's various activities has common points, such as planning meetings and feedback, but it also has its specific procedures. Participating in GATMA is an enriching experience for its members, as it allows contact with students from different courses, promoting interdisciplinarity, in addition to providing a dialogical interaction with the external community, in which the member transmits and receives information. GATMA's work presents satisfactory results with favorable feedback, reflecting positive impacts related to environmental issues for society.
