The aim of this text is to discuss the specifics of children’s educationin relation to elementary education in determinative stages of basiceducation according to the current Law of Directives and Basis of NationalEducation Number 9394/96. The purpose of this study is to examine theproblems arising from the complex relationship of children’s educationand elementary education from the research viewpoint of children’seducation in order to map the particularities of this field and identifyhow they connect and link with elementary education that preserves thepeculiarities, pathways and identities of each stage of education (children’seducation and elementary education). The literature on children’s educationis utilized as a source and also constitutes an empirical basis and statisticaldata, which are the fruit of an ongoing research coordinated by the FederalUniversity of Paraná State, with data concerning violations of the rightsof children and adolescents registered by Conselhos Tutelares (BrazilianHuman Rights Commissions). Taking place in thirty-six cities and townsincluding Curitiba and its surrounding Metropolitan Region, Vale doRibeira and the towns that lie along the coastal regions. One of the linksbetween children’s education and elementary education in the text is theestablishment of a humane project to emancipate children and adults fromthe conditions in which they currently find themselves.Published
