Abstract

Este trabalho analisa as relações diplomáticas e comerciais entre Brasil e Cuba no presente século. Para tanto, procura demonstrar que tal relação se insere na nova dinâmica da política externa brasileira em relação aos países do Sul, especialmente a América Latina. Em seguida, aponta as características principais do intercâmbio comercial, considerando seu volume e elementos. Finalmente, aponta que o fortalecimento de laços entre os países é resultado da convergência de políticas relacionadas à abertura de novos mercados e projeção regional no caso brasileiro e no caso cubano relaciona-se à recuperação econômica e à construção de novas parcerias.
