Abstract

This qualitative study, exploratory approach, aimed to know the perception of Nursing Master’s degree students on religion as a therapeutic resource in the process of the sick human beings’ recovery as well as their families’. Fourteen (14) students participated in the study. A questionnaire was used for data collection. The following categories emerged from the obtained information: religion as personal support", "religion and nursing care", "religion as a therapeutic resource" and "using religion in the practice of nursing care". The results showed that religion is seen by the Nursing Master’s degree students as an important and necessary resource in the process of sick human beings’ recovery; and that this subject should be part of the process of Nursing care and the need to include this theme as an academic discipline, that is, the religious care.
