Abstract

The Unified Health System focuses its attention on the implantation of the National Hospital Attendance
Humanization Program. This paper presents an analysis of the nursing attendance, the satisfaction and the problems faced
in the HUOP Emergency Unit, according to the user’s perception and their relatives’. It is a qualitative, descriptive and
exploratory study. A semi-structured guide of questions and a field diary were used in order to gather data, and the
analysis identified two categories: 1) Logistics in nursing attendance in the emergency unit; and 2) Nursing attendance.
Although the results have shown deficiencies in the resolution of basic health attendance as for regulation/attendance,
hospital physical structure and in the work environment, users and their relatives have considered nursing attendance
suitable regarding its attention, care and efficiency.
