Abstract

Aims to know the interpersonal relationships among the nursing team and to identify how these relationships

are established at the work environment at a hospital from a countryside town. We used the simple observation as a

technique for the data collection in an exploratory, descriptive and qualitative study. The study was developed during

December of 2007 in a hospital of Rio Grande do Sul. Study subjects were six nursing technicians and one nursing auxiliar.

After data collection, we performed thematic analysis that originated three themes: interpersonal relationships among

nursing team members, therapeutic care in the interpersonal relationship with patients and their families and interpersonal

relationship with the medical team. In the hospital’s reality, interpersonal relationships are based on the constant friendship,

solidarity and on the partnership spirit and are a constant, so does the medical hegemony, which is still hardly observed.
