THE UTILIZATION OF JOICE TRAVELBEE'S THEORY IN PSYCHIATTRIC NURSING PRACTICE - A REVEALING EXPERIENCE

This is a case study that shows the utilization by professors and undergraduate students, in the Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing teaching, in which they live the nurse-patient therapeutical relationship based in Joice Travelbee’s theory. The results showed that while developing the terapeutical relationship they have observed some difficulties that were later overcome. They have also reported that the development of the therapeutical relationship produced a professional and personal growth, being a lesson of life.
