The object of this research study is the Educational Practice for teachers from the nursing graduation course of the Center of Health Sciences at the Federal University of Paraiba (Brazil). Teaching approaches proposed in Libaneo’s classification (2003) and their use in the process of qualification of nursing workforce are discussed. The empirical material was obtained by means of half-structured interviews and analyzed through the technique of Speech Analysis, proposal by Fiorin (1990). This process resulted in the construction of the empirical category: Oriented teaching and content emphasis in the process of qualification of nursing workforce, and the realization that the qualification process is supported by the traditional teaching approach, being, therefore, in disagreement with current health and education policies.
