Ethics Policy

The purpose of the editorial process of a scientific journal is to promote the publication of scientific knowledge, avoiding misconduct such as:

conflicts of interest;

infringement of intellectual property;

unjustified authorship;

plagiarism;

duplicate publications;

invasion of individual privacy by research without free and informed consent;

exposure of individuals to situations of risk or embarrassment;

fabrication or falsification of data;

omission of undesirable results;

unauthorized use of information that is not in the public domain;

use of procedures lacking scientific rigor.

Authors should avoid these practices. Should the reviewers of papers submitted to RBPEF detect any problem related to them during the pre-publication phase, the authors will be notified and further actions will be taken following the procedures recommended by COPE, available at https://publicationethics.org/news-opinion/new-flowcharts-ethical-concerns-data-publication.

If any reader expresses concerns to the RBPEF editorial team regarding scientific misconduct related to any previously published work, the authors and others involved will also be notified and other actions will be taken in accordance with the procedures recommended by COPE for these cases.
