Abstract

This article analyzes the microstructure, in particular the semantic commentary, of four Portuguese dictionaries used in Brazilian schools, taking in account a user-profile based on the National Curriculum Parameters elaborated by the Brazilian Ministry of Education in 1997. Starting from the analysis of the semantic commentary of these works, this article will then establish parameters for the definition and the choice of the synonyms in the school dictionaries. The fundamental principle in this study is that all information offered in the lexical article should be discrete and discriminate.
