Abstract

The first part of this work was conceived as a biographic study that intends to reveal some curiosities and important events about Pablo Nerudas life as well as to analyse the main characteristics of his style and to make some comments about the evolution of his work through the years. The focus of the second part is on some facts and actions involving Neruda during his stay in Mexico and the way in which his living with the Mexican people influenced his behaviour and especially his poetry. The last part is an extensive literary analysis of the poem Serenata de México. This analysis leads the reader to verify how Nerudas way of life and work blend and are nourished in his poetry.
