Complexidade e momentos “quase-aha” na narrativa digital

Diante de uma narrativa enigmática no cinema, na literatura ou em jogos digitais, o público
pode chegar perto de sentir que está quase compreendendo o que está acontecendo, como os
eventos estão interligados e assim por diante. Esse sentimento — que chamo de momento
“quase-aha” nesse artigo — é especialmente comum no engajamento com narrativas que
utilizam vários recursos formais para criar complexidade a nível cognitivo. Explorando uma
instância concreta dessa experiência a partir do jogo digital narrativo Immortality (Barlow,
2022), esse artigo argumenta que esses momentos “quase-aha” revelam a natureza
corporificada da narração de histórias — como narrativas se baseiam em padrões de interação
mais básicos, corporais e afetivos com o mundo. Através da complexidade lúdica, a falha ou
ruptura da construção de sentido narrativo expõe as estruturas cognitivas subjacentes à própria
experiência narrativa.
