Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.-
The submission of this article is in accordance with the Focus and Scope of Educar em Revista.
Educar em Revista publishes original articles on education. Its purpose is to address current and significant issues to understand educational phenomena, and it accepts papers related to the field of Education with the following requirements:
I – Articles should not have been published in other journals or meeting proceedings.
II – They should be written in one of the following languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, German, or Italian.
III – They should have up to three (3) authors:
a) For a single author, the author should have a PhD title.b) If there are coauthors, one (1) of the authors can be a doctoral student, and the other authors must have a PhD degree.
c) Articles by graduates and masters will not be accepted by the journal.
IV – They should contain results of investigation in Education, explicitly showing the objectives, procedures and analyses and should not be just a report of experiences or literature review.V – They should follow the formal aspects described in the Guidelines for authors.
VI. At submission, articles should not be identified with the names of the authors in the original text. The author(s) of the manuscript should include their full names exclusively on the field provided in the submission system, and they must also inform their education level, their ORCID ID, their affiliation, link to their CV (lattes for Brazilian authors) and a summary of their biography.
VII. The author is exclusively responsible for the opinions and perspectives expressed in the text, as well as for the accuracy and validity of the citations.
VIII. Since 1st August 2019, due to the internationalization policy, we recommend that articles by Brazilian authors submitted to the journal – to the continuous demand section – if approved, be translated into a foreign language (which could be English, Spanish, French, Italian or German). Any costs associated with translation and its respective proofreading will be the responsibility of the author(s). Educar em Revista will publish both versions of the text (in Portuguese and in the foreign language chosen by the author). The translated text should include the credits of the person in charge of the translation (name and e-mail address).
IX. If the manuscript is approved, the author will be exclusively responsible for the proofreading and formatting services. A proof of the provision of these services must be presented to Educar em Revista. The Journal may suggest registered professionals who provide manuscript proofreading and formatting services. Exceptional cases will be evaluated by the editorial board.
X. Papers submitted simultaneously to other national or international journals will not be accepted.
Manuscripts that do not meet the editorial requirements of the Journal will be returned to the author(s). This will include papers that do not address a key issue in education; that do not present significant contributions to the analysis of the addressed theme. Regarding the articles, the following manuscripts will also be rejected: manuscripts that are merely descriptive, without conducting a theoretical or methodological analysis of the issue addressed; reports of experience or fragments of dissertations and theses; manuscripts that do not present empirical elements or arguments that are sufficiently developed to support their analyses and conclusions.
The Editorial Board can decide to publish the article, document, or interview to order, with the purpose of contributing to a more pressing debate in the field. This article or document will be evaluated by the Editorial Board.

The submission of this article is in accordance with the Instructions to Authors by Educar em Revista.
Articles submitted for publication at Educar em Revista will be previously assessed by the Editorial Board. The articles that do not meet the editorial requirements of the Journal will be returned and the others will be sent for analysis to the reviewers.
Articles must follow the formal aspects listed below:
I – Be according to the focus and scope of the journal;
II – Comply with all guidelines regarding the nature of the manuscript.
III – Meet the requirements set for author’s profile and conditions.
IV – After having a manuscript accepted for publication at Educar em Revista, authors should wait 24 months before submitting another manuscript.
V – Have a length of up to 20 (twenty) pages, including the title, abstract, keywords, images, tables, and bibliographic references;
VI – Have an abstract of up to 230 (two hundred and thirty) words in Portuguese and English and, if that is the case, also in the specific language (English, Spanish, French, Italian and German);
VII – Have up to 05 (five) key words in Portuguese and English, and, if applicable, also in another language;
VIII – Be in DOC file format, with Times New Roman font, size 12, space 1.5, A4 paper, 2.5 cm margins.
IX – Have identification on top of the page, in bold, with the title of the article in Portuguese and English, and if that is the case, also in a specific language. For funded research, the funding agency should be mentioned on a footnote.
X- Educar em Revista adopts procedures that prevent conflicts of interest during the assessment of the submitted articles. To prevent the identification of the author, no explicit mention should be made of the author in the body of the text, footnotes, or citations. We recommend the use of the “XXX” format to replace the author’s name and the work title. If it is approved for publication, the editorial team will contact you to retrieve the information that was anonymous.
XI – Footnotes should be used for necessary explanations. The use of bibliographic notes is not allowed, and references should be identified in the text, for example: (SURNAME, First name, year, p. – page).
XII – Figures and tables (300 DPIs) should be sent in the text. The number and title should be written above the figure or table (For example: Figure 1 – Framework of Education Policies). The source should be informed below the figure or table (For example: Source: Museu Afro Brasil collection) and, if applicable, an explanation with up to 03 (three) lines.
XIII – References should follow current ABNT standards, with the first name (or the first two names in case of a compound name) of the author written in full. The title of the works and documents should be highlighted in italics as shown in the following examples:

In articles in languages other than Portuguese, references can follow the APA stand.

O dossiê temático “Tecer, fazer e saber a pesquisa narrativa”, parte do entendimento de que a Pesquisa Narrativa é uma epistemologia que foi historicamente negada, inferiorizada ou invisibilizada no interior do projeto moderno-colonial ocidental. Nesse sentido, pesquisar com sujeitos historicamente silenciados não se trata apenas de um gesto de adição de suas vozes, mas sim uma revisão dos próprios critérios que definem o que é considerado conhecimento legítimo. Portanto, investigar narrativamente as escolas é um modo de compreender o que se passa nos cotidianos pesquisados que permite perceber o quanto a formação é um processo singularsocial contínuo e o modo como os currículos praticadospensados são tecidos. Com isso, espera-se superar explicações abstratas, entendidas como imprecisas, sobre o que se pesquisa, substituindo-as por modos de compreensão complexos sobre e com as redes de práticas, conhecimentos e valores que operam em diferentes loci de pesquisa. Portanto, por meio desta chamada, esperamos que sejam submetidas produções que defendam que a pesquisa narrativa se desenha como epistemologia capaz de colocar em cena outras possibilidades de produzir conhecimentos fortalecendo a ideia de que as pesquisas se dão com e não sobre os sujeitos em suas singularidades e potencialidades.
Assim, convidamos todos/as/es a submeterem propostas que: 1) concebam a pesquisa narrativa como epistemologia; 2) apontem a riqueza das pesquisas que possam revelar outros modos de produzir conhecimentos necessários às teorizações acadêmicas sobre o campo da pesquisa narrativa; 3) tragam discussões metodológicas sobre as diferentes formas de pesquisar narrativamente; 4) usem a epistemologia narrativa para pesquisar os currículos; 5) usem a epistemologia narrativa para pesquisar sobre e com a formação docente, 6) pensem o tempo da e na pesquisa narrativa para além da lógica do tempo linear ocidental moderno.

Dossiê "Resiliência e Resistência na Educação de Jovens e Adultos: Desafios Curriculares e Políticas Públicas em tempos de incerteza"
Neste Dossiê, assume-se como foco a resiliência dos sujeitos da EJA e a resistência coletiva de Educadores/as, Professores/as, Gestores/as e movimentos sociais, destacando os enfrentamentos nas dimensões do currículo, das práticas pedagógicas e das políticas públicas. É incontornável enfrentar os efeitos da reforma empresarial da educação, que, num contexto societal de corrosão da justiça e da solidariedade, desloca o direito à educação pública para lógicas de eficiência, competitividade e responsabilização individual e padroniza os processos educativos. Ao impor modelos alheios aos territórios, essa agenda esvazia uma educação enraizada nos projetos de vida — sobretudo dos sujeitos historicamente excluídos. Convidam-se estudos teóricos e empíricos nos seguintes eixos temáticos:
Eixo 1 — Currículo e avaliação: sentidos, disputas e construções contextuais – são bem-vindos estudos que abordem a construção de propostas curriculares contextualizadas, os desafios de uma avaliação ao serviço da justiça social.
Eixo 2 — Práticas pedagógicas em contextos adversos, da alfabetização à EJA-EPT – Destacam-se criação pedagógica, educação popular e protagonismo dos sujeitos, que expressem formas de resistência frente a contextos marcados pela desigualdade, pela exclusão e pelo desmonte de políticas públicas.
Eixo 3 — Políticas públicas sob disputa: contradições, avanços, retrocessos e accountability – efeitos das reformas neoliberais, a descontinuidade de programas e ações afirmativas, bem como as estratégias de resistência e incidência política de coletivos educadores em defesa da EJA como direito.
O dossiê pretende fortalecer a EJA como campo de criação, denúncia e reinvenção democrática. Procura articular diálogos Sul–Norte e experiências locais-globais com relevância pública. Ao reunir estas vozes, afirma-se a dignidade, a pluralidade e o protagonismo na EJA.
