Abstract

It is a reflection about the need of a differentiated focus on the care facets, especially home care, aiming at the nursing teachers realization of the new perspectives aroused during the post-modern period. The study contemplates the emerging challenges in relation to the nursing professionals new profile, and the need for a teaching re-elaboration. It also emphasizes the need of constant knowledge upgrade on the part of the nursing educator as a way to fulfill his/her goals. Finally, it considers the ultimate importance, in the aforementioned outlook, of educating professionals aware of the nursing care essential character and, of the difference that they can make as actual nurses.
