Abstract

The main aim of this study was the teaching/learning process related to evaluation from the perspective of the teachers-nurses in a private graduate school in nursing located in the city of São Paulo. We used the methodology of qualitative research as theoretical reference to the analysis. The analysis of the results allowed the unveiling of four categories present in the teachers’ discourses: “experiencing the difficulty in evaluating student”, “experiencing multiple forms of theoretical and practical evaluation of student”, “experiencing paths to student evaluation” and “experiencing objective and subjective ways to evaluate students”. The study demonstrated that the teachers do recognize the multiple interaction involved in the evaluational process, leading them to the elaboration of different strategies that they believe minimize the difficulties in evaluating.
