Abstract

This study entails part of the results of the research on nurse education, carried out for the PhD thesis. It has been inhanced with new information, and refers to the understanding of curriculum flexibility. Data were gathered among coordinators and principais of graduation course, and the aim is to contribute with reflections on the meaning implied in curriculum flexibility during undergraduate years. The results showed a varied understanding about the meaning of curriculum flexibility. Two ways of understanding is stand out: one is about the possibility of a studenfs option on the knowledge field of his interest; the other is related to the proposition of a curricular structure which enables continuous updating.
