Abstract

This work aimed to touch the nursing team of three medical clinics from a general hospital regarding the use of interpersonal relationship as an instrument of care. On scheduled days and time, two workshops were held applying a problematization approach in each one of the medical clinics. The first workshop, in each unit, approached the relationship of help founded on Travelbee and Rogers; in the second, interpersonal communication was approached. Problematization evidenced four thematic axles: lack of personal motivation, personal difficulties in dealing with borderline situations, institutional constraints and the intuitive use of help relationship. We consider that a steady discussion of the peculiarities of the hospital work can allow the rescue of care and caregiver’s sense in the health context. It can also contribute to the building and rebuilding of nursing knowledge and practice and people who constitute it.
