Samples of soft drinks, gelatine, non-alcoholic beverages powder and dietetic drinks were used in the DNS method for evaluation of total sugar. The results showed absence of total sugar in 100% of the soft drinks sample. Concerning the gelatine, only one of the trade marks analised showed equivalence in the total sugar concentration compared to the labelling. The other products which did not declare the presence of carbohydrate in the label presented, respectively on average, 42,2% and 23% of total carbohydrates for non-alcoholic beverages powder and dietetic drinks.
