This research aimed at investigating some possibilities and constraints of the reflective model of teacher supervision in a private language school, according to the literature on teacher education and supervision models. The research involved two academic coordinators and four teachers in eight feedback sessions during four months. The prevailing model of supervision showed characteristics of the directive model, and allowed little room for reflection, suggesting the need to consider institutional factors when adopting a reflective approach to teacher education, otherwise it runs the risk of losing its transformative potential.
