Abstract

Extension activities play a relevant role in the dialogue between science, technology, and society. This report describes the activities developed through the Botânica Extramuros extension project, which articulates botanical knowledge among different audiences and across diverse settings, including schools, formal and non-formal educational spaces, as well as areas within Atlantic Forest ecosystems. The activities were organized into three main axes: scientific experiences, ludic activities, and digital platforms, integrating both face-to-face and digital strategies. The scientific experiences axis included interpretive trails, traveling exhibitions, and science fairs. Ludic activities were developed through the reinterpretation of games and recreational practices applied during extension events. The digital approach was based on regular Instagram publications and the complementary use of other digital media, such as YouTube and podcasts, in order to expand knowledge dissemination. The popularization of botanical knowledge contributes to strengthening the relationship between the public and science, while promoting the exchange of scientific knowledge and experiences.
