About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Educar em Revista publishes original articles on education and related areas. It aims at approaching current and relevant issues in order to understand educational phenomena, and it accepts papers directly related to the Education field, with the following requirements:
I - They must be unpublished, that have never been published in other journals or in proceedings of events, except for translations properly authorized;
II - They must be written in one of these languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, German or Italian;

NOTE: from August 1 2019, articles (by Brazilian authors) submitted to this journal must, if admitted, translate the original text into a foreign language (that could be into English, Spanish, French, Italian or German). The responsibility and charge with the translation must be assumed by the author(s) of the article. Educar em Revista shall publish the two versions of the text (in Portuguese and in the foreign language chosen by the author). The text which was translated must include authorship credits of the person who made the translation (name and e-mail address). 
III - They shall be composed by the maximum of three (3) authors:
a) In the case of individual authorship, the author shall have a Doctor degree exclusively.
b) In the case of co-authorship, one (1) of the authors can be a doctoral student, and the others must have doctor degrees.

IV - They must contain investigation results on the Educational field, highlighting goals, procedures and analyses explicitly, and they must not take the form of mere reports of experiences or bibliographic reviews;
V - They must apply format aspects indicated at Instructions to Authors.

Peer Review Process

Received texts will be sent to two national or international ad hoc reviewers, with a doctorate degree and a recognized production in the evaluation field. The anonymity of authors and reviewers will be preserved during the whole communication process at Sistema Eletrônico de Revistas. The report is a short text with considerations on submission, which is recorded in the system. The final report must be: a) Accepted; b) Obligatory corrections; c) Submit again for evaluation; d) Send to another journal; e) Reject; f) See comments. In case there are diverging reviews, the article will be sent to a third expert.

Publication Frequency

Educar em Revista has bimonthly (online) periodicity.

Open Access Policy

Educar em Revista offers public access (Open Access) to all of its content, following the principle of making the access to research free, which produces a larger global interchange of knowledge. Such access is linked to an increasing in reading and mentioning the paper of a specific author. Extra information may be accessed at Public Knowledge Project – Open Journal System, the project that developed this system to improve the academic and public quality of research, distributing OJS, as well as other software to support the publication system of public access to academic data.

Publication Ethics Policy

Educar em Revista follows the advice by the Committee on Publication Ethics (Cope) mainly regarding issues of plagiarism and self-plagiarism, ensuring a right ethical practice in its scientific publication. The Fórum de Editores de Periódicos da Área de Educação (Fepae), in which Educar em Revista takes part, also indicates those recommendations.

Charge for Submission and Publishing

Educar em Revista has no charge for texts submitted to evaluation by its reviewers, as well as it has no payment for the process of publication (review, formatting, printing and distribution). Because this is a periodical of free access, there is also no charge for accessing or downloading.
