Este trabalho tem por objetivo resgatar a teoria macroeconômica pós-keynesiana, caracterizada como alternativa ao paradigma ortodoxo identificado como ‘Novo Consenso Macroeconômico’. Para tanto, tecemos algumas considerações acerca das origens e principais características do pós-keynesianismo, identificando-o como vertente de pensamento no âmbito da heterodoxia. Como resultado das considerações teóricas traçadas, foram elaboradas algumas implicações de política econômica no sentido de atenuar as deficiências do capitalismo, compreendido dentro do conceito de ‘economia monetária da produção’, contrastando brevemente ao final com algumas das recomendações do Novo Consenso.
