2. File settings: Microsoft Word format, A4 paper, 3.0 margins (top, bottom, left, and right), Times New Roman 13 font, 1.3 spacing, and maximum 10,000 words, including annexes and references.

3. Manuscripts should present title, abstract with no more than 250 words, keywords, and JEL Classification.

4. Complete references must be presented at the end of the text, in alphabetical order, and in accordance with the ABNT NBR 6023/2018 standard.

Books: LAST NAME, F. N. Title of the book. Place: editor, year.

7. Articles are accepted with a maximum of 4 (four) authors, who must have participated effectively in the development of the paper. The authors must also have ORCID registrations. Once issued the first editorial decision, the inclusion of new co-authors is no longer allowed.

8. Authors (and coauthors) with articles under evaluation are not allowed to submit a new manuscript until a final editorial decision has been issued.

9. The review process undergoes two distinct stages: (1) internal evaluation, in which the originality, relevance, and the academic interest of the manuscript are observed; and (2) blind review by peers with expertise on the manuscript’s subject.

10. Manuscripts that do not meet these conditions, as well as the rules presented in the ethics code and best publication practices, will not advance to the peer review stage.

At the time of submission, authors must attach the Application form for adopting Open Science practices, duly completed. When filling out the form, authors must provide information that increases transparency regarding the research process and its dissemination, namely:

Funding sources
At the time of submission, authors must declare all sources of funding, from funding agencies or other sources of support, that contributed to the conduct of the research.

Preprints
The Revista de Economia accepts the submission of preprints deposited in reliable servers prior to or in parallel with the journal’s evaluation process, such as SciELO Preprints, Zenodo, Preprints.org, SocArxiv, and Advance. Articles published on other preprint servers may be evaluated at the discretion of the editorial team. Submission to preprint servers is a choice of the author(s), who must indicate whether the manuscript has been deposited on such servers.

Conflicts of interest
Indicate whether there are potential conflicts of interest of a financial, personal, or professional nature in the process of preparing and publishing the manuscript.

Individual contribution of each author
Explicitly state the individual contribution of each author according to the following criteria: (1) Conception of the article; (2) Data and/or document research; (3) Analysis of data and/or documents; (4) Discussion of results; (5) Writing and revision of the manuscript.

Research data availability policy
Authors must indicate access to and make available the data, materials, and codes used in the research. In case of acceptance, the data availability statement will be published together with the article. Exceptions must be indicated at the time of submission.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
Indicate the use and purposes of Artificial Intelligence tools in accordance with the journal’s Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy. The Revista de Economia follows the guidelines and recommendations on the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) resources and AI-assisted technologies established by Elsevier. The use of Artificial Intelligence technologies must comply with ethical principles in accordance with COPE guidelines regarding privacy, copyright, and other issues. The journal follows the ongoing debate on the use of AI in scientific research and will revise its policy when necessary.

For authors
Authors are allowed to use generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies, provided they comply with the terms of the journal’s AI policy. AI technologies cannot be considered authors. The use of these tools must be carried out under strict human oversight, which must verify the produced information as well as factual errors, assuming full responsibility for authorship and/or co-authorship and for the published content. The use of generative AI to create or alter images, graphs, or figures is not permitted; only limited use for minor adjustments of brightness, contrast, and color is allowed. When submitting their manuscripts to the journal, authors must declare the use and purposes of generative Artificial Intelligence tools and AI-assisted technologies. This information will be published at the end of the article.

For reviewers
Invited reviewers must treat the manuscript as a confidential document. Uploading parts or the entirety of the document to generative Artificial Intelligence tools and AI-assisted technologies is not permitted, due to the risk of copyright violation. Reviewing a manuscript is an exclusively human responsibility. The use of Artificial Intelligence tools as review assistants is prohibited, as such use undermines the critical thinking required for peer review. AI technologies may generate incomplete, incorrect, or biased assessments and conclusions. The reviewer is responsible for the evaluation, a task that cannot be delegated to third parties or AI technologies.

For editors
Editors must treat manuscripts as confidential documents. Uploading parts or the entirety of the document to generative Artificial Intelligence tools and AI-assisted technologies is not permitted, due to the risk of copyright violation. This confidentiality extends to editorial decisions and all communication with authors. Therefore, editors may not submit editorial letters or communications to AI tools, even for the purposes of correcting spelling/grammatical errors and/or improving text fluency. Editors may not use Artificial Intelligence technologies as assistants in editorial work, as this may lead to incomplete, incorrect, or biased evaluations and conclusions regarding the text.

Omitted cases will be analyzed by the Editorial Team.

Research involving direct or indirect human subjects
Original articles resulting from research involving procedures with human subjects must include, at the time of manuscript submission, the approval of the Ethics Committee of the institution with which the authors are affiliated, in accordance with the applicable legislation.
