O PAPEL DAS PLANTAS MEDICINAIS EM DINDE, ANGOLA

Resumo

A medicina tradicional desempenha um papel fundamental na atenção primária à saúde em comunidades rurais de Angola, especialmente onde o acesso a serviços médicos convencionais é limitado. Este estudo teve como objetivo documentar o conhecimento tradicional sobre plantas medicinais na comuna de Dinde, município de Quilengues, Huíla, Angola. Foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com 120 moradores, possibilitando a identificação das espécies mais utilizadas, bem como formas de preparo e indicações terapêuticas. As plantas Vernonia amygdalina, Ricinus communis e Ocimum gratissimum foram as mais citadas, sendo empregadas no tratamento de malária, distúrbios digestivos e febre. As mulheres representaram 60% dos entrevistados, destacando sua importância na preservação e transmissão do saber fitoterápico. A maioria dos remédios é preparada por infusão ou decocção, e o conhecimento é transmitido oralmente entre gerações. Os resultados reforçam a necessidade de integrar práticas tradicionais às estratégias públicas de saúde, promovendo abordagens culturalmente sensíveis e sustentáveis.
