ABSTRACT
This article is intended to evaluate the study of constitutional law in Brazil and its possibilities to properly understand the constitutional order. Three perspectives have been addressed, selected because of their prominence on the national scene: the theory of principles, the neoconstitutionalism and the constitutional jurisdiction. None of them seemed appropriate enough to face this large object. The formulated hypothesis relates this impropriety with the need to promote a complex and systemic analysis of this object. The exposed arguments follow ontological, epistemological and methodological references. The three perspectives are thus briefly presented and critiqued under such references, from the complex and systemic paradigm adopted.
