Abstract

This paper aims at screening constitutional discourses that bring to Latin America the
European constitutional past to a point that makes not viable our past, that is, constitucional interpretation.
This Eurocentric discourse is due to an exercise of colonization of Latin America culture which must be
put under suspicion. On the other hand, it highlights that there was a constitutional interpretation in Latin
America during the 19th century and that the historian have to dialogue with the dogmatic constitutionalist
in order to bring to the latter elements for his/her subjet-matter memory construction.
